Video Tapes for DVD Transfers

At a minimum a padded post bag and bubble wrap tapes or use a post pack carton

Things to do before posting: Number items in order you wish them to appear

enclose your contact details.

 

Film Stock for DVD Transfers

 

Please number films in order you wish them to appear and pack as tightly as possible, large numbers of films should be sent in cartons. Please enclose your contact details, a post pack carton or a spare shoe box can hold about 50 3 inch reels. You can number films with a sticker and felt tip pen or use envelopes.

Let us know what title you wish to use.

 

Records-LP's and 78 disks

Pack well between sheets of cardboard and outer wrap with more cardboard or bubble wrap

For fragile recordings or rare 78's we suggest you

Purchase a sheet of 3 mm MDF or particle board as the backing  and top sheet large enough to cover records and about 10mm over hang is good.

place cardboard between records and then bubble wrap the stack, tape together tightly but not too tight.

Wrap outer in cardboard and obtain a fragile sticker from the Post Office.

 

You can also hand deliver to Avid Tech for safety if desired

Q. What Equipment do you use for DVD Transfers ?

A. AVID TECH has its own consultant technical specialist and we run 2 high power video editing  suites. One is based on Intel 4 CPU and the second is an E8600 Dual Core Processor system a third server system is being purchased based on dual core Intel E8600 Core 2 .45n technology. In total Avid Tech operates 13 energy efficient "Green" PC's optimized to save energy at every opportunity.

 

Our software packages and capture devices reflect the best names in the business such as Black Magic Design. Canopus Edius, Imaginate and Adobe digital audio and DVD production. Relax knowing AVID TECH is fully equipped with the best and latest in digital sound and vision technology and we have got our heads around it so you don’t have to. Our Video Tape Recorders VTR are all NEC, JVC Pro / Sony S-VHS and DV so you will have a better picture than most can offer. Avid Tech in 2009 has standardised to Canopus Pro studio level gear and Black Magic Design to fit in with our technical HD High Definition Leadership in the industry.

Q. What about my privacy?

A We are very concerned about your privacy and rights, we will not disclose your identity or email address to any 3rd party except where required by law. Your details are kept for future marketing only we never provide any information about you to any sub contractor and employees are forbidden to access your information other than that required to process your order. Our secure bank payment system is run by the Commonwealth Bank and keeps your credit card details and we never know or have your credit card details so be confident with AVID TECH since we are not made aware of your card details.Our payment system is sponsored by MYOB for the fastest and most secure payment methods and we prefer it from a business management angle it simplifies every thing for you and us.

 

Q. Is my media secure, will it appear elsewhere?

If we like a particular image or segment from customer media we may use short excerpt in our promotional material otherwise there is no need to be concerned.  We do not use images that would identify individual's readily.

Q. Can you convert or code advanced formats?

A. AVID TECH can code to most any format including SD HD,5.1 Dolby, we have the most extensive conversion facility available, and whatever you need we can do it. Web Streaming MPEG 1+2. Divx. WMV. Real Player Quick Time etc. Ask us about your format needs AVID TECH can convert to dozens of codes including aspect ratios 16.9 and 4.3 (wide screen and normal TV)

Q. Can AVID TECH DVD transfer my 8 mm, Super 8 and 16 mm cine film?

A. AVID TECH can transfer to DVD or Mini DV Tape send an e-mailF for a quote for DVD transfer with or without editing. HD or SD  that means we can scan at HD and down convert to normal DVD 720p or full 1080i BD Blu-ray.

Q. I want a copy of my DVD Transfers in PAL for Australia and a NTSC copy to send to the USA.

A. AVID TECH can convert and label a DVD in any format PAL, SECAM or NTSC With region codes removed.

For the most compatible DVD Transfers we use DVD-R which will work in 94% of DVD set top players and most PC DVD-ROM. If you need a DVD+R format disk please let us know when you order.

Which countries are affected by DVD region codes

 

Typically, a DVD-Video disc's outer packaging bears a symbol indicating its region code.

Avid tech DVD Transfers are region free and can be played in any country depending on PAL or NTSC

FORMATS Outside of region 4 - DVD’s are commonly in either NTSC or SECAM, some countries use PAL and need to be converted to PAL for use in Australian DVD players and PC-DVD Rom's on computers sold in Australia. Region free players are becoming available and some will play NTSC and PAL however many DVD Players made before 2004 cannot do this.
